The Prophet, whose given name is Kevin Orth, is the leader of the cult that led Minnow, her parents, and a hundred others into the wilderness 12 years ago to form a new community separate from society. He is a charismatic and commanding figure who claims he speaks directly to God and makes those around him hang on (and believe) his every word. A man who champions the underprivileged and believes that there will soon come a time when the world will be razed, leaving only he and his followers to rebuild.
